Bad smell in the refrigerator - how to eliminate and care properly.

There is a refrigerator in every kitchen. Whether it is an apartment or an office, it is tirelessly responsible to keep food fresh. But once, having opened the door, we rush to close it quickly as an unpleasant smell persist in the refrigerator.

The most common causes of bad smell are:

• spoiled food;
• improper care of the refrigerator;
• the mold appearance;
• faulty ventilation system;
• breakdown of internal parts of the unit;
• clogged drain hole.

The appearance of a specific "aroma" due to technical malfunctions, including problems with the drip system and defrosting, is usually solved by contacting the service center specialists.
Wash the unit with a No Frost cooling system thoroughly 2-3 times a year. With a drip defrosting system ("weeping wall") - at least once a month. To remove odors in a new refrigerator, wipe the inside of the refrigerator with a baking soda solution or detergent.
What to do if a persistent unpleasant smell appears regularly:

- wipe the walls and shelves of the refrigerator with a solution of vinegar (diluted with water in equal parts) or lemon juice (3-4 drops per glass of warm water);
- grind charcoal or activated charcoal and place it on a saucer in the refrigerator for a day - it will absorb the pungent smell;
- persistent smell well eradicates ammonia, which can be used to wipe the walls and shelves of the chamber;
- baking soda diluted in warm water (3 tablespoons per glass) also effectively removes unwanted aromas. If the smell is pungent, increase the concentration of baking soda (5-6 tablespoons of baking soda in a glass of water, until a viscous gruel is obtained) and wipe the shelves.
Leave the doors of the refrigerator open so that the shelves and walls of the unit dry out and the smell disappears. After 1-2 hours, load it with food and plug it in.

How to remove mold in the refrigerator?
The fungus is effectively removed using the following means.
Bleach - contains sodium hypochlorite in its composition, which kills fungal spores and prevents them from multiplying;
Hydrogen peroxide (3%) perfectly disinfects bacteria and destroys mold;
Table vinegar prevents the development of fungus, if it is applied once a week to an infected area;
Ammonium alcohol effectively removes fungus from glass and tiles. Use it in ventilated areas so as not to harm your health.

And remember, the stale smell in the refrigerator is not only unpleasant, it is soaked in all foods, which is especially dangerous for your health. Take care of the cleanliness and live healthy!
